“Women and motors? Just Joys,” the third edition kicks off.
Here are the names of all the protagonists
If anyone still believes in popular Italian sayings “Women and motors, joy and pain” “Woman driving, peril thriving” “You drive/park like a woman,” they will soon have a chance to change their mind, thanks to “Women and motors? Just Joy”, Museo Fratelli Cozzi latest photography project.
“Women and Motors? Just Joy” is a traveling photographic exhibition portraying women who have distinguished themselves in institutional, professional, personal, social and cultural fields.
The project was conceived by Elisabetta Cozzi, founder and president of Museo Fratelli Cozzi and is an initiative of the Friends of Museo Fratelli Cozzi Association.
Photographer Camilla Albertini, who also curated the previous editions, immortalized the 40 testimonial selected for the III edition.
With her artistic gaze, she portrayed the women aboard the automobiles of the museum’s collection, bringing out the identity and charisma of the protagonists.

THE THEME OF THE III EDITION
Once again, we have tried to shatter a stereotype, the one that says “Women can’t work as a team.”
The ability to work in a team, to be a “team,” has no gender, which is why we chose “Sisterhood” as the main theme of the 3rd edition.
Each woman posed together with a “sister” with whom she has a special relationship in a professional or personal context. The number of testimonials has therefore doubled, and there are 40 women portrayed by Camilla Albertini.
As in previous editions, the photo exhibition has been printed in two copies to continue its journey in the public and private exhibition spaces that will host it.
Our thanks go to the women protagonists, the photographer Camilla Albertini, and those who believed in our project: Mawdy Services and Pirelli as sponsors, Quattroruote and Ruoteclassiche as media partners, LIUC University, ACI Storico, ASI and FIVA for the prestigious patronage of the initiative.

The official opening was on November 25, at Museo Fratelli Cozzi in the presence of authorities, journalists and, of course, with the women portrayed in the photographs.
Since the first edition we chose this significant date because we believe in the beauty and elegance of these portraits and we believe that it is precisely in the lack of respect that lies the first real sign of violence.

BEFORE INTRODUCING THE PROTAGONISTS…
Before unveiling the protagonists’ names, allow us to express our gratitude to the many individuals who have supported and continue to champion “Women and Motors? Just Joy.”
Three remarkable years have passed since the project’s inception. During this time, the exhibition has traversed Italy and beyond, gracing both institutional settings and everyday spaces like schools and libraries. These three years have witnessed the forging of “alliances of great social and cultural value” between the testimonials and the Museo Fratelli Cozzi – a testament to a profound and unwavering “sisterhood.”
These three years have filled us with pride and entrusted us with a renewed responsibility: to relentlessly promote a culture that transcends stereotypes, championing ethical and respectful communication. And in the process, we have had a lot of fun in taking the shots, sharing tales of everyday femininity and a wealth of captivating anecdotes.
A small yet significant achievement
In the past, to heighten awareness of the unacceptable portrayal of women alongside automobiles, we often encouraged our audience to search for “women and motors” on Google Images. We now invite you to do so again. You will discover that alongside images that objectify women, the results now feature the visuals from our exhibition in the top positions – a tangible demonstration that change is possible, and that a brand’s visibility can thrive without the instrumental use of the female body.
After a year-long journey, the 2nd edition is now ready to pass the torch to the 2024/25 edition.
Shall we unveil together the names and stories of the protagonists?
